What NetOrderFlow is (and is not)

NetOrderFlow is a field order-entry app that produces NetSuite-ready CSV files. It does not talk to NetSuite directly.

You want to understand what this app does before you put your catalog and your customers into it. NetOrderFlow is an order-entry front end for teams that run their back office in NetSuite. Reps build orders on a phone, tablet, or laptop; an admin exports the committed orders as a CSV; someone imports that CSV into NetSuite as Sales Orders.

The CSV-export model

There is no live connection to your NetSuite account. Nothing in NetOrderFlow reads from or writes to NetSuite over an API. The bridge between the two systems is a file you generate here and import there.

  1. 1Reference data (customers, items, price levels, list values) is loaded into NetOrderFlow by CSV import from NetSuite, under Settings → Import.
  2. 2Reps enter orders against that data. Orders move from Pending to Saved to Committed.
  3. 3An admin selects committed orders in the Export center and generates a CSV using an export template.
  4. 4The CSV is imported into NetSuite at Setup → Import/Export → Import CSV Records, as Transactions → Sales Order.
  5. 5Back in NetOrderFlow, the exported orders are marked reconciled once you confirm they landed in NetSuite.
Why a file instead of an API

A file-based flow needs no NetSuite integration record, no token management, and no sandbox rollout. It also means NetOrderFlow never sees your NetSuite credentials. The trade-off is that data is only as fresh as your last import, and orders only exist in NetSuite after someone runs the import.

What this means day to day

  • Inventory levels shown here are not live NetSuite quantities. The app carries item records and prices, not stock.
  • A customer created in NetOrderFlow does not exist in NetSuite until you import it. Exports write a companion file named …_new_customers.csv for exactly this case.
  • Item and customer matching on import depends on NetSuite Internal IDs or External IDs being correct on the records here.
  • Editing an order in NetOrderFlow after it has been exported does not change anything in NetSuite. Exported orders are locked here for that reason.
